Cyprus

Have you ever heard of Cyprus? If not, you are not the only one. Although this country is not the most popular tourist destination, it is gaining ground. Cyprus is an island located just south of Turkey. Located in Mediterranean Sea, Cyprus is the third largest island.

If you are interested in visiting Cyprus you will want to consider starting in the many larger cities. Some of the more popular ones include Larnaca, Nicosia, Paphos, and Limassol. Additionally, if you want to party hard you will want to visit Ayia Napa which is located in the eastern part of the country.

Although partying is a favorite pastime of tourists, you may want to take a few days off to soak in the many beautiful attractions in the area. For example, there are many popular archaeological sites all over the country. In fact, many of them date back to the Roman Empire as well as the New Stone Age.

Of course, since Cyprus is an island there is plenty of coastline for you to explore. Although it is not nearly as developed as many tourists expect, it is quite beautiful to say the least. You will have a great time walking the coastline for hours on end, and simply soaking up the atmosphere.

Traveling to and from Cyprus is not nearly as hard as you may think. There is one main airport in the country; Larnaca International Airport. This is the main airport that most tourists use when coming to the island. There are also occasional boats that can transport people to and from Greece and Turkey.

One thing to keep in mind is that public transportation is not the best in Cyprus. If you are going to be visiting the area you will want to rent a car. This is the easiest way to get around the island, but will cost you a bit of money. And don’t forget; you drive on the left side of the road in Cyprus.

With nice weather year round, Cyprus is becoming more and more popular among tourists. Although it is yet to catch up with other destinations in the area, the tourist industry in the country is working hard to make up ground. Anybody who is looking for nice weather, many attractions, and access to the beach should consider a trip to Cyprus.
